Well, time has certainly been slipping by since my last blog post. In addition to working on new artworks, the ongoing show at the Chengdu Bookworm came to a close recently. Including sales from the QSI Christmas Bazaar, a total of thirty limited edition prints have found their way into new homes. A big "thank you" to Peter Goff, owner and manager of the Bookworm.

More news: a new navigation link has been added to the web site, allowing everyone to now go directly to the Facebook fan page, where you can use this very public domain to express your comments regarding my art and photography. You may even post images there, and periodically I will select one to use to create a one-of-a-kind artwork for a lucky fan, postage paid from my studio to you! Take a look at the Facebook page here.

Between going to the Bookworm to check on inventory of prints and teaching English, it has been difficult finding time to create new pieces of art for the portfolio. Bill just finished a pencil on paper rendition of a scene at the Summer Palace in Beijing and limited edition prints are now available. Check out the portfolio under the paintings category.

Since December 16, 2009, Bill has been exhibiting limited edition prints of his photographs and paintings at the Bookworm, a combination lending library, restuarant, bar and events space in Chengdu. Peter Goff, co-owner and manager of the Chengdu " 'worm", has graciously allowed Bill to hang the framed prints throughout the library space, utilizing the bookshelves as display hangers. Patrons have been able to stop in and enjoy a coffee, drink or one of the fine menu items, while picking up a book from the shop's massive collection of English titles and viewing the collection of twenty-four fine art prints. Subjects of the prints range from photographs taken at Juizhaigou National Park, to impressionist oil paintings of people and scenes in Dujianyan and Pingle Ancient Town.

On November 28, 2009, Bill had his very first show and sale of photographs and art. The show was at the Christmas Bazaar held at the QSI International School in the American Garden complex in Chengdu. The bazaar is organized in a festival format and is always held outdoors. Bill's wife, Linda, and friends, Tracy and Lucy, helped transport twenty-four framed pieces early in the morning and the display was set up by 10:30AM. Both Chinese and foreign visitors began cruising the grounds by 11AM. The photographs and artworks attracted a lot of attention and by 12:30PM, thirteen pieces had been sold, with some customers purchasing multiple items. All in all, the show and sale was considered a success.
